The Lauder bench is a beautiful piece of design that is crafted to the absolute highest quality. Designed to please not just aesthetically and functionally, this bench is also extremely tactile and an absolute pleasure to sit on and interact with.
Constructed out of oak and using traditional joinery methods this bench is built to provide a long service to its owner. This mixed with the modern feel and look of this piece mean it’s a real mix of the old and the new.
The base is made of sections of chunky oak cut to shape then joined using mortice and tenons joints secured with drawbored pegs to form the supports. Each slat is then handmade and shaped before being rounded off which gives everything a lovely smooth feel. The slats are then fixed to the base one at a time using Iroko dowel which is then wedged into place using small oak wedges. Giving a finished piece that is extremely sturdy and completely constructed from timber without any glues or fixings.
The bench pictured was made to order for a client and measures 230cm in length. Lauder benches of 190cm length and below come with 2 support structures as standard rather than 3 like pictured, but if you prefer the look of 3 an extra can be added at extra cost but it is not needed for strength.
All of our furniture is bespoke and handmade to order. The depth of this bench and the seat height dimensions stated are to a design that we have found optimum for maximum comfort, and with this bench due to the making process these dimensions can not be changed. The lengths stated are standard lengths for benches and are there as a guide and for ease of purchase but these can be made to any length you would like for an extra cost. If you would like the same design but longer or to a bespoke length just get in contact for a quote.
Standard delivery for this item is £85 for UK mainland addresses but a reduced local rate and multiple item delivery is available, or you can collect to save on the delivery costs. For any other deliveries including international please get in contact.
