Modern styled media and shelving unit.
This contemporary shelving and media unit was designed and made for a local client. They had a wonderful house with a lovely mix of period features and traditional furniture with some beautiful modern pieces to balance it out.
This unit was designed to fit in and make a statement without imposing on the rest of room. To do this we kept it quite clean looking and played with the layout of the shelves to step away from everyday uniformity. We kept the thicknesses of materials quite regimented to keep it not looking over fussy. The lower section was fitted with a wide pocket door for the AV boxes which were all mounted on slide out trays for ease of access. The doors for the storage section were fitted with touch catches so there were no visible handles. All the doors were set apart with shadow gaps separating them which added to the contemporary feel. The unit was then spray finished in Farrow & Ball strong white for a flawless finish.
